its been a while, but God provides

psalm 73 : 23 – 28

reccently ive been swamped with graduate school, a full time teaching job, and doing aftercare for our school for 2.5 hours every day.  i would wake up early and go to sleep late, and by the time i got home, i would be so tired i wouldnt spend time with God.  i would also be so tired in the morning that i wouldnt spend time with God.  so then where was my time with God?  it was nonexistent.  2 Timothy 2:13 “if we are faithless, He remains faithful…” how true are these words.  God, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit have been giving me quiet times to bring me back to them, yet i have been foolish and wicked to stray from them.  but the problem is not the quiet time, its the prayer life that has struggled, and when one area of spiritual life struggles they all struggle.  this is the quiet time i read today and prayed that i would receive guidance in, and as you read, you will see how faithful God is, even when we are faithless.

psalm 73 shows us that we must be with God.  weknow that He is with us, but now it is our choice to be with Him.  we must give Him our right hand to hold on to, that He may lead us, guide us, and then receive us into His counsel and glory.  He will only take our hand under two conditions though, we must be with Him, and then we must freely give Him our right hand.  it is possible to be with God and not give Him our right hand.  we will be walking next to Him and know Him, but we will not have the intimacy of a a Father and son.  we will just be acquantinces walking down any path that we choose, and God will be next to us.

this intimacy will continue, once we give God our hand and have Him leading us down the right path.  God is the ONe that is in control.  God is the One in charge.  God is the One who will give us glory in the end.  we just have to give Him our hand and walk with Him.  what better joy is there?  we are next to God, the Creator of everything.  He is the one that will take our hand.  He wont take it after a few minutes or a few seconds, but instantly, when we decide to give Him our hand He will take it.  like the prodigcal son, when God sees us make that effort, He is waiting to come running to us.  like st. peter when he fell in the water, Christ is there reaching out His hand to lift us up.  once we decide to commit ourselves to that walk with God will we see all of His blessings and grace.  once we raise our hand for Him to hold, do we realize the true path, more blessing, and the love a Father truly has for a son.  when He takes our hand, He is leading us.  He is leading us down the right path.  He is the one that will give us good counsel.  And in the end, what is going to happen?  He is going to receive us into His glory.  All of this is for us.  This is all so that we can get closer to God.  And why should we get closer to God?  why should we get closer to the Father?  we should get closer because thee is no one on earth or in Heaven like God (verse 25).  there is no one who loves and cares for us as much as God.  “my flesh and my heart fail, but God is the strength of my hear and portion forever” (verse 26).  this verse shows us that it is only God that will provide for us in our weakness and tribulations.

yet there are some who walk away from God willingly and they refuse to see His face and walk far from Him.  these are the ones God will destroy.  it is the indviduals  who trust in other gods and harlots that God will punish.  they choose to walk down a path of their choosing and not stand by God and have Him guide.  they choose destruction over blessing and glory.  because we choose to draw near to God it is good.  because we took the the first step to stand next to Him, it is the start of the blessing.  we are in the presence of God at this point, yet now, we need to give Him our hand.  we need to draw near to God and put our trust in Him.  this is the hardest step, leaving the path that we have been on for so long, and stepping onto His path.  all we need to do is take a few steps off of our path and onto His, lift our right hand, and the second God senses that we are reaching for Him, He is going to come running to lift us up.

so now that we are on this path and God is leading us, what are we going to do?  do we just let Him lead blindly?  how do we get to know God and the Holy Trinity more?  it is when we willingly give up all that we have, all of our free will and pride, that we will realize that God knows what is best and is in control.  in order to get closer with the Holy Trinity, we must get onto their path that they have set for us.  we must give Them our hand.  we must read the Bible, we must pray to, through, and with Them.  we must fast, we must turn our back from the old path, the old life, and give our Father complete control.

roosters on a random mountain in maseno

a few months ago i was in kenya on a mission trip and i remember waking up one morning and doing quiet time really early toward the base of a mountain.  as i was sitting down on a bench i heard very fast footsteps coming toward me.  i looked around and saw nobody so i began to wonder what it was.  the noises stopped once i became more alert of them and shifted around.  as i began to read again, i heard them running again toward me.  now as little children we all had once incident with a ventriloquist dummy, with their scary faces, or the fact they can talk randomly etc.  and if not, at least their awkwardly designed bodies are still in our minds.

so as i keep reading i picture this little ventriloquist dummy running up to me.  about a second later i hear the loudest noise ever.  a rooster just starts cawing out his cock-a-doodle-doos right next to me.  of course one rooster is okay, but how about two?  what about three?  how about a hundred roosters cawing at one time, would that be easy to brush off and ignore?

as children of God, we are entitled to cry to Him with whatever request we need.  whether we are having problems at work, school, or in personal relationships, we need to pray to God to help us.  its easy to avoid one rooster cawing, but when 100 are making the same noise at the same time, it begins to echo.  when a parent has a child that is hungry and the child cries to the parent, the parent wants to do everything they can to feed the child.  what if the parent cant afford the food?  what if the parent is tired?  maybe the parent is busy so they cant provide for the child.

now lets think about God.  does He hear our prayers?  yes He hears all our prayers and answers them at His time, but what if all of us, as His children, and the body of Christ cry unto God with the Holy Spirit?   will God not hear us more and come speedily to us?  what happened with the people of nineveh?  when they all repented and cried to God, did He not answer them?  when the children of israel walked around the wall of jericho together, did it not fall down?  when the mountain of mukattam moved, how did it move?  was it when one person alone prayed to God?  or what about queen esther when she saved her people.  did she fast and pray alone?

in all these cases, a congregation of believers came together to pray to God for a certain reason and God answered.  He answered speedily because He heard the cry of His children.  He heard His children asking Him to have mercy on them.  He heard Jesus Christ interceding for them and He heard the Holy spirit interceding with words that we cannot speak.

like the roosters on the side of this mountain, one or two roosters isnt to bad to block out and ignore.  but 10,000 is impossible.  as children of God, we must pray to God when one of us has a problem so that God can hear us.  we must be willing to call special fasts so that God will see how big the problem is and we must show Him how weak we are without His help and guidance.  we must humble ourselves and show Him how He is our good Father and He made promises of a Father to provide for us.

let us learn to pray to the Holy Trinity, trusting in them to answer our prayers speeidly, and at the same time let us learn to pray for our brothers and sisters, sharing in their joy, and troubles, but more importantly praying for them and with them, that our Father will hear our prayers.  as well, let us not doubt when we pray.  let us pray knowing that God will answer in the appointed time.

g.l.a.r.e.

originally i didnt want to start a blog, but i feel that the Holy Trinity has been pushing me to start this, and post some of the quiet times that They have revealed to me. this site is basically being written to tell of all of the amzing works that the Holy Trinity is doing in my life.

i guess the first amazing thing that i will share is that i have come to realize that it is not just God that i need to pray to, it is all three essences of the Holy Trinity. yes i pray to God because He is my Father and i need to make my requests known to Him. Yes He knows what i need before i need it, but there is still something missing if i just pray to Him. what is missing is the other two essences of the Holy Trinity. is the Holy Trinity not three essences? is the Holy Trinity not the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit? then why do i only pray to God?

what is the role of Jesus Christ, now that He ascended to heaven? is it not to intercede for us for all of eternity that God may have mercy on us and provide for us? as well, what is the role of the Holy Spirit? is He not called the Spirit of truth? is He not also our guide and comforter?

the Holy Trinity is the greatest gift in the world. this gift is of our Father, our Savior, and the Holy Spirit given to each of us to help us in our daily, but more importantly secondly decisions. They are a gift of provision, intercession and love that can never be taken away. did not God say that He would never leave nor forsake us? did not Christ die for us, and ascend to Heaven to intercede for us and also prepare our mansions in Heaven? was not the Holy Spirit given to us to lead us and guide us on the straight and narrow path? all of the Holy Trinity willingly gives Themselves to us, so that we may one day be with Them in Heaven.

wow, the Holy Trinity, what more can be said. this is proof that God’s loving arms are resting on everyone. regardless of their situation, God is watching over our coming and going. over every wave that crashes down on us, Jesus Christ is extending His hand, like He did with st. peter, that we may grab it and lift us up. over every hill in the valley of the shadow of death, the Holy Spirit is leading us on the straight and narrow path. how foolish would it be not to thank Them, individually, for Their help and guidane in everything.
